Through the healing power of the ocean and helping us cope with the loss of Jaxon, the One Last Wave Project memorialize our superhero by carefully etching Jaxon’s name onto board 6 and taking him into the ocean to catch a symbolic last wave.
Celebrating our daughter’s second birthday we found out that the board honoring our son and many other loved ones will be launched just miles away from our campground. Setting out early in morning, and tears rolling down our faces, it was powerful to see such an amazing way to honor our superhero in person.
We needed help and guidence shortly after their world was turned upside down,so they set off to Sedona, AZ to send time with the Miss Foundation at the Selah Carefarm. The Selah Carefarm is a very special place on 20 acres of beautiful farmland where bereaved family members can come to both give and receive connection, compassion, and understanding.
Through art therapy, yoga, spending time with the carefarm animals, spiritual ceremonies and emotional connections, we found some piece knowing we were not alone. Brett even met his spirit animal (JoAnn) who helped guide him through the darkest time of his life.
We encourage everyone who is going through the grief of a child or a loved one to seek out the carefarm.
